We've been working on making some major changes to our kitchen in all sorts of ways we never imagined before. Thankfully, so far we've only done it 'virtually', so we haven't wasted a bunch of time, effort and a ton of money on things we didn't really like. In this article I'll be looking at the process we went through in choosing the cabinet styles for our new kitchen. Once I’ve made those changes I want to set that as my default and you’ll notice down here in the left hand toolbar at the bottom of your screen, the set [...]

If you missed Part 1, you can catch up by following that link... OK, continuing on from where we left off -  So when I figured out my width of my treads, what I usually do is I will set my nosing piece in there, get it sitting in there where I want it, I'll look underneath, get an even space, I like to allow just a little bit of extra room, so it's not right tight against the riser part. So I got a little bit of play in there if I need it, maybe not even an eighth [...]

Today I am going to show how to install hardwood flooring onto your existing staircase. So you can see up top here, I've already done a couple of them, so we've used the same flooring that we used in the rest of the home, plus some stair nosing pieces, which is a special piece that is needed to do the very front edge of the stairs, on the upper tread part. So all the pieces were cut and glued in place. You could nail them if you want, just ends up being a lot of nail holes to fill. I [...]

So we're continuing on from our first part of this information about installing a shower valve. If you missed it, you can check out Part I here. So we got that all prepped up and we are using plastic line, so if you are using the push fittings, you need to make sure you have the plastic inserts inside of there, if we are using copper pipe, you could pull those out. So I will get ready to mount this into the shower, the other guy is going to go around that way and run the old screwdriver. I need [...]

I want to show you today how to install a shower valve in this fiberglass shower. So one of the first things we want to do is determine the position of the valve itself, inside of the the shower. So by doing that, you want to check for one thing inside of the wall, make sure you've got the clearance of the room, there's no pipes in the way, electrical, that sort of thing. Determine your width, your height off the bottom, which generally is around forty-five inches of the base of the shower and get a mark there and [...]
