nullA number of years ago I decided to make my riches by jumping into the real estate world, first as a Realtor, then as a property investor and “Landlord”, and even as a property flipper.  Let me tell you, I’ve learned a lot along the way, and not all of it has been easy.  In fact, not much of it has been easy!  I’ve had to lick a lot of wounds, and I’ve been lucky to make it through some financially scary times.

However, with all that said, I still think real estate investing can be a blast, and it can lead to quite a bit of wealth when you do it right.  I guess it’s pretty much like anything in life, right?  You’re not likely to make it big in an area that is 100% secure and easy…

So, now that I feel like I’ve taken my lumps, as well as watching a number of friends, family and acquaintances do the same, and since I now have more time to be sitting down, thinking about the path I’ve traveled, I figured it might be a good idea to share some of the many things I’ve learned over the years.

For the most part, here on this blog, my plan is to share the various “home improvement” type projects that many people want to, or need to, tackle along the way to making an investment property sale-able (or rent-able), or for that matter, for making their own home better.  I will likely focus on this because this is still a part of the work I really enjoy, and that I do for pleasure. The haggling with buyers, sellers, banks, brokers… all that stuff… I leave that to my partners!  Let me get my hands on a hammer and a saw and let’s get some things fixed around here!

I hope you’ll find some answers, or at least some inspiration in what will probably be a random collection of various projects I have tackled or am tackling at the moment.  Hopefully everyone comes out with all their fingers, plus a little more knowledge.
